7 Months

I used to be sad each month when Hadley was getting older, but now I'm at the point where I can't wait for all these huge milestones to get here! Soon she will be crawling, then walking and talking and I am so excited to see the little person she grows up to be!

For now, I'm loving every second of this stage. She is the perfect age because I can put her on the ground with her toys and she will just sit there and play! Here is what life with Hadley is like now:

Sleep: You are sleeping great again! Your bedtime starts at 7 and you are usually asleep by 7:30. I still do a dream feed at 11 and then you sleep until 7. After you eat you usually go back down until 8:30 or so! You are now being swaddled with your hands out and so you can find your own paci in the middle of the  night. I read a tip to put several pacis in the crib so that you can always find at least one. The other morning I went to get you and you had one paci in your mouth and one in each hand. So precious!

Eating: You eat 4 oz every 3 hours and are doing great with your solids. You eat solids (fruit, veggie and oatmeal) once a day, but we'll start eating twice a day this week. Sometime you'll have a late afternoon snack of yogurt! I haven't found anything you don't like yet!

Sizes: You are wearing 3-6 month from everywhere. If an outfit has feet you have to go up a size since your so tall. But during the summer you are mostly wearing rompers and bubbles and 3-6 still fits! My favorite jammies for you are from Old Navy and they are a size 0-3!  Now you are wearing size 2-3 diapers. I love this size and can only find it at Babies R Us!

Things you love: You love playing in your play room and your favorite toy right now is the stacking rings. You love being in your excersaucer and you love banging on everything! Maverick is so funny to you and you love when she's around. You love being outside or looking out the front window waiting for daddy to come home. This month you have loved your paci and you have it in your mouth most of the day... You are such a happy girl that you love most everything!

Activities: We are still in our music class at Kidville and we meet up with our friends every Thursday afternoon.

New things you do: You sit by yourself, you can feed yourself your bottle, you are starting to fuss if I leave the room, you are grabbing toys and trying to reach for some that are out of reach. You babble and smile at people when they talk to you. You "clap" your hands together and if you have toys in each hand you love banging them together!

Routine: You wake up at 8:30 take a nap at 10, 12:30, 2:30 and a quick nap at 5. You eat and play in between all your naps. Bath time is at 7, we do lotion, a story and a small bottle. You fall asleep very quickly! You eat at 11 pm and then sleep until morning!

Hadley is such a nosy little girl! She is always staring at someone!

This is her new face- she does this all the time!

Sweet Hadley I am so excited to watch you grow. Every day is better than the last and I'm so proud to be your mom!

Father's Day Part 2

We celebrated a great Father's Day yesterday. Derek spent the morning playing with his new golf clubs and then we all went swimming and Nanny and Poppy's house. Hadley and Emily had a great day loving on their dads and their Poppy.

That is one FULL diaper!

After we all swam, Caroline and I wanted to give the girls a bath together- even Aunt Caroline jumped in!

I am so grateful for my dad, my grandfathers and my father in law's influence on my life and on little Hadley's life. Poppy, Popu and Pa we love you and hope you had a great father's day. We certainly missed our Papa today- he wasn't far from our thoughts!

Happy Father's Day!

Derek, Hadley is so lucky that you are her daddy. We are thankful for all you do for our family and we love you so much! No one can make Hadley smile like you do and I'm so glad she's such a daddy's girl. Happy Father's Day! I hope you remember your 1st Father's Day for forever!

Mav and Hadley love their daddy!

Hot

It is hot here in Frisco. I think we are on day 4 of 100+ degree weather! I hate putting Hadley the carseat because every time I get her out she is drenched with sweat! Today, our mom group decided it was a perfect day to swim.

I snapped probably my favorite picture of Hadley before we headed over to Lindsay and Laighton's house.

We had so much fun for about 30 minutes and then Hadley was done with the pool and done with being in the sun! Can't say I blame the girl!

Its impossible to take a group picture!

Hadley's new favorite face. She chews on her lips all the time!

Hads took her afternoon nap in the car on the way to a late lunch so we could catch up with our friends Dominique, little Everleigh, and DeAnn!

Hadley couldn't keep her eyes off sweet Ever. I can't wait for Hadley to be 2 like Everleigh- she is beyond precious!

Happy Birthday DeAnn!

A Fun Summer Day

Today was a great day. Hadley got to spend the afternoon with two of her favorite people, Abbey and Zoey! I have been wanting a sno cone and so Abbey, Zoey, Hadley and I went off to the Sno Cone Lady. This will be a summer tradition for us for sure!

The girls came over right when Hadley woke up from her nap and they picked out her outfit and coordinating bow. Zoey told me that she hopes Hads inherits fashion sense from her!

It was hot so we decided to eat our sno cones at home

Then, we came home and played. Hadley loved showing off her toys. She didn't stop smiling and giggling the whole time!

Mav wouldn't leave our sight!

Hads had the best time!! She loves Abbey and Zoey so much.

The girls even fed Hadley her lunch and they did a great job!

Can't wait for more summer days with sweet Abbey and Zoey. Maybe next time I'll have Emily come over too- then I'll have all my girls together!

Happy Flag Day!

We obviously had to dress in our patriotic best on Flag Day!

The signature Hadley face

Its serious business blowing raspberries!

Bath Time

If you know me, you know that I love to take baths. The last few weeks of my pregnancy I honestly took at least 5 baths a day. People loved telling me that the days of taking relaxing baths were over, but I'm happy to report they are wrong! I still take my daily baths. For the first few months Hadley loved sitting next to the bath. I think it was the heat and the noise, but she would sit in there with me for forever.

Then, I started bringing her in the bath with me. I'd wrap her in a towel and put her in the bouncy seat, and I'd reach over and grab her and put her in with me. She loved it, and so did I!

Now, Hadley is a big girl and takes her baths in her own bathroom. She is sitting up so good and is now able to sit, splash and play in her bath. Now, bath time is our favorite evening activity.

Big

I have tried to hold out on buying this awesome baby gadget because it is huge. Not only is it huge, but its quite ugly and loud. I've tried hard to have modern baby stuff laying around the house. At least we have a designated baby play room so that this eye sore isn't front and center!

I'm glad I caved and got this huge toy because Hadley was ecstatic, and that is all that matters. Check out this video, its pretty funny! Don't you wish you could have this much fun!?

Hadley's new trick

To date, Hadley has 3 tricks that she can do on demand. I can usually get her to smile on demand, blow raspberries, and now she pants like a dog! She thinks its so funny when I do it to her, and today she started doing it back to me! I was at the store when she did it back to me the first time and I started laughing and squealing at her- so embarrassing!

I caught it on film and of course Maverick was in the room-so you can hear Maverick panting in the background too. Big sister Mav is never far away!

Email subscribers, go to www.derekandlizzy.blogspot.com to view the video!

I tried to get her to blow raspberries, but she was sticking to just one trick tonight!

Catch Up

It has been awhile since I've written a blog! We've been busy, Hadley has been a little under the weather, and most importantly Derek has been home! He has been home with us for the last week and it has been so much fun with him here all day! I have been so spoiled by him being home. He is super dad and has gotten Hadley to skip the 1 am feeding.

We've had a fun few weeks.

We've done lots of reading now that we sit up by ourselves

We went to Austin (and Salt Lick!) to celebrate Ali's graduation from UT

We went to the ranch and showed off our eating skills

We played in the front yard at the ranch

Hads wasn't so sure about the splash pool!

We went to the Children's Aquarium at Fairpark with our friends

Hads and Em looking at the sharks and sting rays

She loved the aquarium. All the lights and the water mesmerized her!
